3 Powerful Practices to Become a BIG Success in 2016

If you're like the majority of entrepreneurs, you were taught by nobody what successful habits you should be incorporating into the day-to-day running of your business.

Instead, you brought whatever working habits you learned at either your last job and maybe even from school. Even though those practices may have served you in those days, you might be finding they are holding you back from growing your business.

Therefore, I want to talk about 3 powerful practices you can begin doing right now to grow a very successful, profitable business, without making yourself crazy.

 

Practice 1 - Start your entire day with a positive, grounding ritual.

I have no idea any super-successful businessman who jumps out of bed and immediately checks email. Everyone I know has some kind of ritual - maybe it's yoga or journaling or visualizing or some inspirational reading.

But whatever it is, the point is to begin your day powerfully and at peace.

Then you can check your email.

Look, I get it if you are squirming right now. I used to be an enormous check-my-email-first-thing-in-the-morning too.

But also for a year now, I have instead started out my day with yoga and perhaps some journaling, and I must tell you, it's really helped me stay focused and grounded regardless of what goes on around me. I have a tendency to get more done, be less frazzled, and be far more focused.

And you should do this before you check email and begin your day - as soon as you hop into your day thinking you'll get "back" to meditating - it never happens.

 

Practice 2 - Take the time to plan your entire day (and perhaps your week) beforehand.

There are a whole load of resources and systems out there to help you structure your entire day, and it certainly does not matter what system you use, so long as you just do SOMETHING.

For myself, I devote some time, usually on Thursday (but sometimes on Saturday) to plan my week out with least have the big rocks scheduled. And every morning I revisit that plan, and based on what I've gotten done (or not gotten done), I then map out what I have to do that day.

I'm no expert at this and I also most-definitely might have a much better system, but the point is it does indeed work for me.

The times I don't revisit my schedule and plan my day is usually my least-productive days, so it is definitely worthwhile to take five minutes and come up with my day's to-do list.

 

Practice 3 - Take the time to check in with your business as well as your goals at least once a month.

It isn't enough to construct your marketing plan and find out your targets in January and then never take a look at them again. You will need to return and revisit your targets as well as your plan (and also check back you still link to your vision and mission).

  • Are you currently on track?
  • Perhaps you have gotten off the trail?
  • Are you on the different route than you meant, but you're finding you prefer that route better?

Whatever it is, this is an important step to be sure you stay clear, linked and centered on your business (which makes it a lot much easier to achieve your goals).
